The Economy is Tough on the Horses
horses

Here, yet another tragic story about a family, their home and their horses. Wanda Burrows and her family are in dire need of homes for their 18 horses. On November 30th, 2009 the bank intends to foreclose on their property if $50,000 is not repaid to the bank for the outstanding balance of a loan the family had. Obviously, they are concerned for their own welfare, but also for that of their horses.

"
It is not a very nice time of the year to have to deal with all this. We have a small boy at home and Christmas is coming. Some people just have no heart or concerns for others," says Wanda.

Without going into the circumstances that led to this, it is tragic for all concerned. But now to sell and find homes for the 18 horses on the farm. The horses range in age from one to twenty with most being arabians, sired by Wanda's stallion. There are also quarterhorses and a rescued Hackney Pony that so far only trusts Wanda. Wanda has been trying to establish her farm as a lesson stable, but as we all know that takes time.

The horses are quite a distance from here, I believe in the Napanee area. Selling one horse at this time of year is tough enough, but to have to re-home 18. Wanda would appreciate any help she can get for her horses. They are show horses, trail horses and schooling horses, 3 of them ponies. Wanda can be reached by email at copper53@kingston.net.
