Trail Riding Clinic Always Popular

The Upper Canada Equestrian Association is pleased to offer again this year its popular trail riding clinic and judged trail ride with presenting clinicians, 3 Amigos Trail Riding Clinic on May 26th and 27th at the Niagara Regional Exhibition Fair Grounds in Welland.

The clinic offers riders the opportunity to work with their horse around obstacles, crossing bridges, crossing water and much more. The 3 Amigos, Mark Dobrindt, Russ Vamplew and John McMahon are well known to most of the local trail riders and equestrians in the area. We believe these three have more time on horseback than most have driving their car.

On May 26th, riders and horses meet at the fair grounds, warm up and are then asked to take their horses through various obstacles. Mark, Russ and John work with each rider to help them overcome any problems they encounter with their horse. Quite often the horses have not seen these types of obstacles. The clinic is informal with the 3 Amigos working on areas that have been requested by the participants. They have also been known to include trailer loading in the clinic. Auditors are welcome

The second day is a judged trail ride that takes place in the Short Hills Provincial Park weather and terrain permitting. A prize is awarded to the winner of the judged ride. This ride is open to participants of the clinic only.

Registration for the clinic is on-line. Fees are $20 for members of the Upper Canada Equestrian Association and $40 for non-members. The additional fee for non-members covers your membership to the club. Please note, you must also be an OEF Member.

For more information on the clinic, please contact Mark Dobrindt at 905-892-9769
