How Do You Stop A Horse from Cribbing?
Mike Hughes has the answer in his new DVD Crib-Free™ Training

Meet Mike Hughes. Mike has been training horses in California for the past 23 years concentrating mainly on problem/vice solving as well as training reiners. After an incident that took place where a horse ultimately died from colic brought on by cribbing, (Find out more about this incident in the DVD) Mike set out to find a way to stop horses from cribbing.
If you have horses, you have probably run into a horse or two that cribs.
Cribbing by definition is " a stable vice in which the horse places its upper teeth on the edge of an object, arches its neck, inhales and often produces a grunt or belching sound." (UCDAVIS School of Veterinary Medicine: The Book of Horses")
After countless hours of studying horses that crib, Mike started work on developing a program to stop this habit. The program is his two-step process defined in the 2 DVD set "Crib-Free™ Training". Today there are over 70 horses that have successfully completed the Crib-Free™ training developed by Mike Hughes.
No longer will you need crib collars or expensive surgery, or for that matter have to spend endless dollars repairing property damaged by a cribbing horse. No longer will you have to be the outcast of the barn because your horse cribs. No longer will you be turned away from a boarding facility because your horse cribs. There is now a solution.
With all the hours spent watching cribbing horses, along with other studies and research, Mike determined that many cribbers do so out of boredom, stress and fear. Once a horse starts to crib it becomes a 'feel-good' habit for the horse and like any habit - hard to break once started.
Mike's DVD "Crib-Free™ Training" will not only teach you how to stop your horse from cribbing but give you other valuable training tools for:
• tie rack placement
• round penning
• sacking out
• spook training
All of these training techniques will help make the horse comfortable in its surroundings, help reduce stress and ultimately give you a better trained horse.

The Crib-Free™ Training DVD shows you Mike's two-step training process teaching both environmental solutions and training methods to eliminate cribbing behaviour in your horse. The program is desigend to eliminate the root causes of cribbing, teaches how to correct cribbing and ultimately how to set your horse free from cribbing.
This is not an overnight solution. It can take months, but is simple enough that whether you are a trained professional or new to horses, you can incorporate the Crib-Free™ Training as part of your everyday training schedule with your horse and as mentioned before - ultimately have a better trained horse.
To learn more about Crib-Free™ Training visit www.crib-free.com. The DVD and training aid can be purchased for $59.95 or $29.95 without the training aid. Crib-Free™ Training will be available in Canadian Tack Shops soon.

recently caught up with Mike Hughes while he was in Canada working with an interesting lady from Ingersoll, Ontario. Crib-Free™ sponsors Michele Tynan, a certified FEEL facilitator. Michele's methods with horses and the people she works with offer a gentle heart and demeanor that fits well with the Crib-Free™ program.
Mike states, "after working with Michele for 9 days, I found her to be very gifted in giving riding lessons, building confidence in her students, and making the connection between her student and the horses. Michele has a heart made of gold and truly has a passion for not only the horse but for her students". Michele's methods are a new way of teaching horses and students that is also new to me. I'm looking forward to returning to Canada and learning much more from Michele. She truly has a gift."
FEEL or Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning is learning by doing. By following FEEL, you gain knowledge, acquire skills and enhance values so that you and your horse partner, learn and grow. Riding horses is not required so it allows many the opportunity to experience the horse's majestic beauty by connecting with the horse's heart.
There are many aspects of this learning such as building leadership skills, boundary settings, team work, skills, energy work, meditation skills, problem solving skills (thinking outside the box), confidence building, becoming more aware of your body and body language, emotional healing through heart connection, and much more.
The horse has a way of showing and teaching us that cannot compare to any other conventional learning. One of the beautiful things about horses is that they do not judge us. Horses accept who we are. Horse/human relationships, which the horse is the teacher, have existed for centuries, though it is only the past 15 years it has formed as a therapeutic discipline here in North America.
Michele Tynan has recently become a Certified FEEL facilitator through Horse Spirit Connections and now operates a Ridng and Equine Learning Establishment under the name of Spirit Quest at Double N Farms in Ingersoll Ontario. www.horsespiritquest.com

I would really like to thank Michele for everything she has shown and taught me during my time in Canada. A very gifted and good hearted individual. Michele's compassion for the horses and students is second to none. I am looking forward to returning to Canada to work more with Michele.
