IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Office of The General Manager

Paris Fairgrounds

Paris ON

The Paris Agricultural Society (PAS), host of the Annual Labour Day weekend Paris Fair – September 1 through 5, 2011 – is extremely pleased to announce they will partner with the 2011 Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMA week September 9 – 12, 2011) being held in Hamilton, Ontario.

PAS & the CCMA reached agreement on a one year partnership serving as an industry first.

The Canadian Country Music Awards are an annual event recognizing the top artists, musicians and providers within the Canadian country music industry.  Recognized as one of Canada’s most prestigious & best known award shows, the nationally televised CCMA Award Show will take place in Hamilton at Copps Coliseum, September 12, 2011.

The 2011 CCMA event will gain immediate and direct access to the Paris Fair marketing campaign, the Paris Fair geographic market itself and direct access to the tens of thousands who annually attend the Paris Fair.

With Canadian Country Music Week taking place in Hamilton under the tagline, “CCMA 2011 Hamilton – Country Music Lives Here”, and participating as partners at the 2011 Paris Fair, the Canadian Country Music Association will be creating excitement for their event within a big piece of their natural audience – agricultural fairgoers at one of Ontario’s largest & best known fairs and just minutes from the host city in Hamilton.

The Paris Fairgrounds is just 40 minutes from Hamilton, within 10 minutes of major highways 24, 403 & 401 and within 90 km of a market of more than 5 million people. The Paris Fair taking place just days before the CCMA event in Hamilton presents a great opportunity for the 2011 CCMA to reach even deeper into the country music audience of Southwestern Ontario.

"We are thrilled to be part of this year's Paris Fair,” said Canadian Country Music Association Executive Director, Don Green. “The Paris Fair will provide an excellent opportunity for the community to begin their week of country music which culminates with the Canadian Country Music Awards, which take place at Copps Coliseum on Monday, September 12. The Paris Fair is the start of what will surely be one great week of Canadian country music in the region."

The Paris Fair is very proud to officially announce the Paris Fair Main Stage will be re-named the ‘CCMA Stage’ for the 2011 Paris Fair.

Fans attending the 2011 Paris Fair Sunday Country Music Concert on September 4th will not only be entertained by two CCMA Award Winning superstars but they will also be treated to experiencing the CCMA build up first hand. Though it cannot be confirmed just yet who will be in attendance (due to touring schedules & availability), the organizers of the 2011 CCMA are working hard to have a surprise guest-star or two of Canadian country music in attendance during the Paris Fair Sunday Country Music Concert  (September 4th).

June 21st 11am an open media session is scheduled at which time the Paris Fair will introduce its 2011 entertainment line up & special contesting details.

“We are in almost daily contact at this point with the CCMA marketing team receiving updates on pending artists availability to make a surprise appearance during the Paris Fair.  We can tell you the CCMA organization as well as our own are committed to doing all we can to make the Sunday Show of the 2011 Paris Fair an event like never before seen here while also turning up the excitement level of Paris Fair country music fans.  For the first time ever, Paris Fair country concert goers will be a part of the biggest week in Canadian country music – that’s pretty darn special in of itself right there!

For the CCMA organization to recognize the value of including the Paris Fair in their marketing and build up to the Hamilton event is a clear indication of the quality & support of the Paris Fair, its’ organizers, its’ volunteers and its’ followers – today is a great day for these two great organizations!”

In addition to all this, an amazing contest (to be officially announced June 21st at a scheduled media event mentioned above) will be launched where one  lucky winner will receive two (2) passes to the 2011 CCMA Awards Show in Hamilton at Copps Coliseum on Monday September 12.  This lucky Paris Fair goer will be there live watching Canada’s country music superstars performing, making presentations and participating in the nationally televised music event of the year.  Included in this, the winner will also receive roundtrip transportation to the big show, courtesy of Brant County Ford.

The Paris Agricultural Society, producers of the Paris Fair, celebrating its’ 153rd year in 2011 would like to express their appreciation to the Canadian Country Music Association for inviting the 2011 Paris Fair to participate in the kick off to CCMA week.
