....where "just Horsin' around in Pelham" is our pass-time and we hope to make it yours as well.
As a boarding facility we offer indoor or outdoor stalls, or constant turnout. Use of the sand ring and all facilities and we're just minutes from Short Hills Provincial Park for trail rides.
Saturn Stables offers approximately 9 acres of escarpment beauty. Our features include:
• extremely large sand ring, with plenty of cushioning
• complete hunter/jumper jumping course
• barrels, trail bridge & gates
• 60' round pen
• just minutes to hours of trails in Short Hills Provincial Park
• 9 indoor 10x10 or larger stalls
• water at each of the stalls
• large wash bay with heated water
• 6 outdoor enclosed stalls
• 7 paddocks - 4 beautiful grass for all the graziing in the world, one of which is below the escarpment with hills and valleys as well as a large pond. Automatic waterers in two of the paddocks.
• use your vet/ferrier or ours - vet here twice/year for regular checkups and shots - ferrier every 5 weeks.
• someone on the property most of the time.
Board: $400.00/month stalled
$450/month & up for high maintenance horses
- includes feed, bedding and daily turnout (weather permitting).
- first and last month board required.
Riding Lessons
We offer riding lessons in english hunter, jumper, western pleasure, western games. Specializing in beginner riders, we can take you to the next level. However, for those already accomplished, we have horses to meet your requirements in hunter, jumper and western as well.
For those wanting to show, we compete at local level english and western shows.
Lessons: Our lessons are small (usually not more than 3 at a time) most cases, only one or two.
Age: 6- ?
Cost: $35.00/lesson or $125.00 for 4 lessons (paid in advance).
Requested Private Lesson: $50.00 /lesson or $175.00 for 4 lessons (paid in advance).
Time: 45 minutes to an hour on the horse, depending on age of child, weather conditions, etc. (Usually 2 hours at the farm).
Times Available: flexible
Public Trail Rides
Our rides will go through Short Hills Provincial Park, country roads or our lower valley depending on weather conditions, and rider confidence.
Public Trail rides can be 1 hour - 3 hours at a cost of $35.00/hour per person.
We can arrange a special ride tailored to what you are looking for.
• Advanced booking required.
• Long-pants recommended
• Shoes or boots with a minimum 1/2" heel (no running shoes)
• Helmets provided
• bug spray, gloves, warm coat depending on weather conditions
• bottled water/snacks for longer rides
• riders must be at least 8 years of age
• maximum rider weight 250lbs.
Ride, Wine & Dine
An afternoon of riding, wining & dining. You arrive at the farm at 11am, an hour and 20 minute horseback ride through the Shorthills Provincial Park to Henry of Pelham Winery where we stop for lunch and sample wine, enjoying the scenery, a ride through the winery and back to the farm.
Cost: $150.00/person lunch extra....
