Excellent Coaching & Dedication Brings 16-year-old to Championship at the A's

 

Daniel McGee sits proudly with his year-end grand championship trophy. A trophy he earned for first place overall in the OHJA "A" Level for his efforts in the 1.0M Jr/Am Jumper Division. It was a long road for Daniel this year after taking last year off from showing to search for just the right horse to enter the jumper divisions at the A's.

While looking for that special horse, Daniel worked with his young Oldenburg last year to prepare him for a future jumping career. Late in the season of 2008, that perfect horse was found. A veteren jumper, this 17.1 h Hannoverian suited the bill. His name "Home Stretch". More...

Let’s imagine that you’ve strapped yourself to a rocket. Now add muscle, flesh and a brain to that rocket.  Seeing as the rocket has a mind of its own and muscle to control its every whim now what would you say.

It's been about eight years I have dreamed to own my very own horse. Eight years that I have been around horses. Never did much with them besides ride, never really understood the whole idea of keeping one as a pet until last year while I started to ride at Saturn Stables, every week I got to ride a different horse, and every week I had to clean the barn inside out.  I became friends also with my coach Deb and loved being at the barn, I volunteered as much as I could and practically lived there, but Deb told me I could not live in the barn lol.
